Testing is undertaken by a qualified PAT tester holding the City & Guilds 2377-77 qualification for the inspection and testing of electrical equipment.
We maintain full Public Liability Insurance, and copies of our insurance certificate can be made available upon request.
2. Scope of Testing
The PAT inspection includes:
Visual inspection of equipment and flexible cables
Testing using calibrated test instruments (with annual calibration certificates available)
Functional checks (where applicable and safe)
Labeling of tested equipment with a pass/fail sticker
Digital certificate/report with test results provided within 24 hours
3. Client Responsibilities
To ensure testing is carried out efficiently and safely, clients must:
Provide reasonable access to all appliances requiring testing
Ensure that all equipment is available and ready for testing
Inform us of any equipment or areas requiring special care, access control, or are considered business-critical
Back up all data prior to the inspection of IT-related equipment
Ensure an authorised person is available on-site to liaise and provide access
4. Limitations and Exclusions
While every effort is made to test all portable and fixed electrical equipment, certain limitations apply:
Critical Equipment: We will not test servers, live IT/network infrastructure, security or alarm systems without prior written consent. These items may require specialist handling or an agreed safe shutdown procedure.
Live Testing: Equipment must be unplugged and isolated from power to be tested.
Battery Operated Devices: Items powered solely by batteries (with no mains connection) are not covered.
Repairs: We do not carry out repairs or maintenance beyond re-terminating plugs and replacing fuses.
5. Test Equipment
All test instruments used are regularly calibrated to ensure accuracy and compliance. Calibration records are available upon request.
